Paradise Ranch Castle B&B in Austin

Kennecott Caboose #22

There are some great, unusual places to stay in Nevada that are off the beaten path. One that comes to mind is the Paradise Ranch Castle B&B, nestled in the Reese River Valley at Austin. This quiet setting definitely allows tranquility and relaxation for the weary traveler and for those looking to escape the ordinary! The scenery there is breathtaking, and the castle offers a great roof top perch for photos and star gazing.

At the Nevada Northern Railway Museum in Ely, one can actually spend the night in a working caboose! Advance reservations are necessary at this very popular place. There is also a bunkhouse available for overnight rental there for those railroad buffs who will get to watch the engineers prepare the locomotives in the morning.

The Colorado Belle Hotel in Laughlin is another unusual place to stay. This 600-foot long replica of a 19th century Mississippi paddlewheel riverboat is located at the center of casino row. Laughlin is an unincorporated town located on the Colorado River. For those who enjoy water attractions from kayaking to dinner cruises, this is the place.
